Green Star Products, Inc Reports Algae May Not be the Answer

    Written on May 31, 2007

Yahoo Finance.com reports that while biodiesel from algae can produce 50-100 times more oil per acre than oil from crops such as corn or soybeans, Green Star Products, Inc. claims biodiesel algae will only meet a small percentage of the world’s increasing demand for fuel.

    1. Algae Girl says:

What about using algae to make ethanol? There are currently groups using solar distillers and even piping the waste CO2 from the fermentation process back into the algae as food. The algae eats the CO2 and converts it to oxygen etc while it photosynthesizes. The waste CO2 being fed to the algae grows lots more algae to be turned into ethanol.

      ALGAE IS STILL THE ANSWER.

ps, Don’t you think the world’s increasing demand for fuel is entirely unrealistic? What about more fuel efficient engines? What about conservation? How do these things factor in? Or, have you not considered them?
